The pages in this section is going to record the achievement of the great men and women who have built British homes over the last few hundred years. We will be looking at people linked with a single development, like Jonathan Carr at Bedford Park in Chiswick; and builders synonymous with a single style such as Thomas Cubitt or Robert Adam with the Classical Style. We will also look at the great families, very often Quakers, who built workers housing as part of great business developments like the Lloyds family of Corby who built what became known as the Lloyds Houses and the Crittall Windows family. We will also feature the architects who came to embody particular periods of homebuilding such as Amyas Connell who designed glorious 'Moderne' Houses in late 1920’s.
